Pie Iron Breakfast Sandwiches

  • Pie Irons
  • Mixing Bowl
  • Fork or whisk for beating


  • 8 slices sandwich bread
  • 4 medium eggs
  • 4 slices cheese
  • 1-2 tbsp butter
  • salt and pepper
  • precooked bacon or sausage optional


  • (Optional) Preheat your pie irons over the fire while getting your supplies ready.
  • Lightly beat one egg, then add salt and pepper.
  • Butter the insides of your pie iron.
  • Insert a slice of bread on the lower half of the cooker and create a small indentation in the bread. Add a slice of bread to the other side of the pie iron as well.
  • Pour your egg into this indentation and place the slice of cheese on your other slice of bread. If you wish, adding a slice of precooked sausage or some slices of cooked bacon at this point is quite tasty.
  • Carefully close your cooker, making sure to latch it.
  • Continue with your remaining ingredients to create additional sandwiches.
  • Cook pie irons over your fire, turning frequently, until egg is set and your cheese is melted.
