Instructions
(Optional) Preheat your pie irons over the fire while getting your supplies ready.
Oil your double pie iron on both sides. Insert steak, peppers, and onion, then close and place on campfire.
Cook for 5-10 minutes, flipping regularly. Remove when steak is at your preferred doneness.
Butter two single pie irons or another double on both sides. (If you don't have enough pie irons, you will need to do this in batches.)
Place one slice of bread on each side of pie irons.
Layer steak, pepper, and onions on one side. Place 1-2 slices of cheese on other side.
Close the pie irons and place on the fire. Cook for3-5 minutes to allow cheese to melt and bread to get toasty.
